Appropriate use of lighting can significantly help people with dementia understand their environment. By contrast, badly planned lighting can accentuate sensory impairments that are often associated with dementia. It contains many practical suggestions that involve minimal cost, but have the potential to create a homely environment that meets the needs of people with dementia.
